A nature lover? At Kappelshamn both the beach and woods are within walking distance. The north of Gotland offers a rocky wilderness, full of freedom. From the high cliff coast by Hallshuk, to the flats around Kappelshamnsviken (Kappelshamn’s Bay) and out again along the wild stone coast liberally scattered with stone fossils. Kappelshamnsviken is appreciated by many visiting birds. Here you can spot heron, tufted duck and red-breasted Merganser and more. During spring we enjoy the blue anemones and orchids, and in autumn you can pick chanterelles and golden chanterelles, lingon berries (similar to wild red-currents), and dewberries – you just need to know where.
